What is The Horse Path?

The Horse Path seeks to assist in the development of human capital through direct communication with horses, mediated by the thorough guidance of organizational consultants with dozens of years of experience.

Our aim is to provide executives, teams and organizations with quick insights into leadership and teamwork; how motivated your staff is, and how to lead and resolve problems in order to achieve success.

The product of our training program is dramatic empowerment of individuals, teams and organizations, providing them with surprising clarity within a short time.

Why Horses?

Horses are sensitive and authentic animals. Their need to survive has taught them to be attentive to the atmosphere around them, to feelings, energies, gestures and actions – rather than to words, as we are. As opposed to human beings, horses provide a direct and real feedback through their actions. A horse’s immediate reaction reflects that which our behavior conceals: our feelings, our positions, our behavior patterns, our motivations and our team spirit.

Horses are herd animals and thus need a leader, but respond only to true leadership, not to formal managing. From the horse’s point of view, the presence of team members in its environment makes them part of its herd, and the horse responds accordingly, providing indications as to whether true leadership exists, to social cohesion or its lack, to trust and cooperation or to internal tensions and intricate office politics. Horses provide a true mirror image of team dynamics – both above- and below ground.

Horses are a litmus test to their environment: They identify the participants’ state of mind, resolve, commitment, alacrity, aggressiveness and degree of clarity, and respond to it. The horses’ actions and responses provide each participant with real tools for learning, growth, personal improvement, and team development.

But horses are not enough…

Horses provide clear and immediate insights, but horses are not enough. To achieve real, significant and enduring empowerment for organizations as well as individuals, a custom-made, coherently directed process is needed. This is where we come in.

With dozens of years of experience as organizational consultants, we able to fit the process to each organization’s needs and culture, assisting human resources and training professionals in defining aims, goals and desired products – and helping managers lead a process which will empower both them and their teams. We provide the intervention required in order to create a positive and constructive experience, which will contribute to empowering the team and the organization and provide them with tools for their ongoing work.

Orna Raiter – CEO

Orna has over 23 years of experience in managing and leading human resource operations. Orna took active part in establishing companies and business units in the Israeli market. She specializes in developing and implementing human resource strategies, consulting and engaging in corporate development in both local and global companies.

Orly Barak – Professional manager and chief instructor

Orly has over 25 years of experience in organizational consulting, leadership development, and group instruction in team development programs and executive empowerment in business, public sector and non-profit entities. Orly integrates work and horses both in Israel and the United States. She co-founded Barak-Ben Shalom, an organizational consulting firm, teaches horse riding and is EAGALA (US) certified.
